Shirley Horn es para mí una especie de Jekill & Hyde dentro del Jazz. No sé qué me gusta más de ella: si sus baladas aterciopeladas o sus temas más descarados y divertidos. Otra cosa que me maravilla de ella es que alcanzaba niveles espectaculares de virtuosismo tanto con la voz como con el piano, tocando a la vez que cantaba. No sabría decir si era mejor cantante o pianista. Traeré dos canciones: una balada (John Williams dirige la orquesta) y una divertida canción con su trío de siempre.

To me Shirley Horn is a kind of Jekyll & Hyde within the Jazz. I find hard to decide what I like most about her: her velvety ballads or her  cheeky and funny songs. Another thing that amazes me is that she reached spectacular levels of virtuosity both on vocals and on the piano, playing while singing. I can't say if she was better as a singer or as a pianist. I bring two songs: a ballad (John Williams conducts the orchestra) and a funny song with his trio ever.

Free - Mr. Big

"All Right Now" es probablemente el tema más conocido de la banda británica "Free". Hoy, sin embargo, me gustaría que escuchaseis uno de mis canciones favoritas: "Mr. Big". Un tema sostenido por la sólida batería de Simon Kirke. Y una demostración de que los silencios también son música. Paul Rodgers a la voz, Paul Kossoff a la guitarra y Andy Fraser al bajo dan muestra de su gran feeling. La actuación pertenece al mítico Festival de la Isla de Wight en el 70.

"All Right Now" is probably the most famous theme by the British band "Free". Today, however, I would like you to listen to one of my favorite songs: "Mr. Big". A theme supported by Simon Kirke's solid drums. A clear demonstration that silences are also music. Paul Rodgers on vocals, Paul Kossoff on the guitar and Andy Fraser on the bass show us their great feeling. The performance took place at the legendary Isle of Wight Festival in 1970.

Iron Butterfly - In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida

In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida es una mítica canción del grupo Iron Butterfly que empezó a mezclar rock psicodélico y rock duro. El tema dura 17 minutos y en su parte central incluía unos fantásticos solos de órgano, guitarra y batería. Evidentemente, tuvieron que editar también una versión corta, porque las emisoras se negaban a emitir canciones de más de 3 minutos. Algo que, dicho sea de paso, sigue ocurriendo hoy en día en mayor o menor medida.

In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida is a legendary song by Iron Butterfly, which began to mix psychedelic rock and hard rock. The theme has a duration of 17 minutes. In its central part included some fantastic organ, guitar and drums solos. Obviously, they had to edit also a short version, because radio stations refused to broadcast songs over 3 minutes long. Something that somehow still happens today.
