Cream is considered a pioneering group. Perhaps the first to be labelled as "power trio" (there have been many more in rock history). It is said that Ginger Baker was the first to use double bass drum (see video). Eric Clapton is credited with having promoted the use of the wah-wah (even before Hendrix). Jack Bruce had a magnificent voice and a very creative bass (fundamental to trios, inasmuch as they don't have a rhythm guitar or a keyboard to give density to the whole). In this song they extolled Ulysses.
